Guidelines for meeting in person

The following are guidelines to use for meeting someone in person who you originally met online. These could be also used for blind dates.

**When meeting someone for the first time, be sure to meet in a very public place. Starbucks is a great first meeting place. You can stay for only as long as it takes to drink your coffee or if it's going super well and you are comfy, stay longer!

**ALWAYS be sure someone knows where you are meeting the guy, your car color and make/model and license plate number.

**Call and check in with a friend every hour. Have a code word you can give your friend if you need help. Let the guy know upfront that you are to check in with a friend. If he has a problem with it the lose him! If he is nice and understanding about it, that's a good sign. Better yet, take that friend with you the first time!

**IF he suggests you go to a movie or dinner after OR if dinner was the initial meeting place, and you feel comfy enough to extend the date, be sure to check in with your friend and let him/her know where you are going. Still check in hourly!!

**Get as much info on the dude as you can. By the time you are wanting to take things beyond the internet and onto real-time, you should have chatted on the phone several times, have his HOME phone number, and have his drivers license number. Again, if he has a problem with giving that out and doesn't understand why you ask for it, then lose the sucker! Some guys actually scanned their drivers license for me, blacked out the address (all but the city) and e-mailed it to me.

As I remember more, I will add them.... Be careful and be safe!!
